The singer, songwriter, model, and poet, who recently wrapped up a worldwide tour with a final show in Charleston, South Carolina, made a noteworthy announcement during her latest concert. She revealed that during the entire tour following the release of her ninth album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, she has been giving away the money earned from ticket sales to the cities where she and her team performed.

“I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ and just every city I’ve gone to before this. And also I wanna let you know, for what is worth, every ticket, every dollar, it is poured right back into the city,” declared the artist on the stage of the Charleston Coliseum, leaving both the audience and the worldwide press in awe. She emphasized that performing live, for her, is not about the money: “Because it’s not about that for me. And I know that that sounds cheesy, but I do it cause I love it, I need to. I just love it. And we’re all about the places that we’ve been to, and I have a deep appreciation for all the places we’ve had the privilege to visit.” Of course, she received a resounding applause from her devoted fans, who wasted no time in showing their appreciation.

While the artist didn’t delve into specifics regarding her donations, she did not clarify whether the funds contributed by her fans through ticket sales are allocated to local administrations or specific charitable organizations. Nevertheless, she expressed profound satisfaction with her decision and joy in sharing it with everyone who joined her during the final concert of a tour that took her to various cities, including Columbia, Franklin, Dallas, Austin, Mexico City, Quebec, London, Paris, and Rio de Janeiro.
