Everything surrounding the release of Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming studio album, This is Me Now, is moving a bit slower than we’d like. However, this week we’ve received an important update regarding this new musical project from the diva, on a very special date for both her and her partner.

Because «Bennifer» continues to be a topic of conversation one year after that surprise trip to Las Vegas, where they sealed their commitment in true American style. And JLo has commemorated this through her official social media profiles.

That surprise she mentions was nothing less than a preview of one of the songs included in her next album. «Midnight Trip To Vegas» was inspired precisely by that night of love and craziness that led the couple to venture into marriage almost two decades after their initial breakup.

«I always dreamed that I’d find somebody like you/ We’re drowning/ In orchid arrangements/ Dresses and pastries/ What if it’s raining, yeah?/ Is this what we’ve been dreaming of?/ It’s crowded with families and agents/ Room reservations/ Which destination/ Paps helicopters/ Event of the ages/ Caught in the matrix (…) Then you whispered in my ear/ Said, ‘let’s get out of here’/ We can disappear tonight/ What about a midnight trip to Vegas?/ Just me and you, baby/ Throw the kids in the back of the pink Cadillac/ And us in the bathroom changing,» JLo in 'Midnight Trip To Vegas'

The singer’s ninth studio album will be an ode to the love that faltered in the early 2000s and was rekindled in 2022. This Is Me Now was initially scheduled for release during this summer, but the exact date has not been announced yet. The album will feature 13 new songs, which could become the musical hits of this summer, including «Midnight trip to Vegas,» «Dear Ben,» and «Dear Ben Pt II.»

«Twenty years ago, I fell in love with the love of my life. I was working on an album called ‘This Is Me… Then,’ which aimed to capture that moment in time. Now, the most amazing, the most incredible thing has happened… The reason we are here is that I want to capture this moment in time, and it’s even better than the first time,» explained the singer, who seemed to hint at the album’s release date as July 21.

«Just like ‘This is me… then’ wanted to capture a very special moment in my life, ‘This is me… now’ also wants to capture a very special moment in my life. So, this is me now. People think they know things about what happened to me along the way, the men I was with, but they really have no idea, and often they are wrong. There’s a part of me that was hiding a side of myself from everyone. And I feel like I’m finally in a place in my life where I have something to say about it,» Jennifer Lopez explained in a Vogue interview.
