The storm that has battered Argentina in recent days, particularly the city of Buenos Aires, has been immortalized on the social media accounts of one of our most beloved artists: Emilia Mernes.
The singer, known for popularizing ‘sparkles’ among her massive legion of young followers, posted on her official profiles the great fright she experienced at 4 in the morning when the effects of the storm were felt in the building where she was.
«I’m scared. The building is shaking, what’s happeningggggg,» wrote the singer and songwriter, sounding the alarm for her millions of followers around the world. Many of them, unaware of the current situation in Argentina, initially assumed it was an earthquake.

It was her Argentine followers who provided context to the situation in responses and comments to her message: «The wind is terrible, it seems like a tornado, I still couldn’t go back to sleep,» «I thought someone was breaking in, and I froze for 30 minutes, and in the end, it was the sound of the rain,» «I understand, the same thing happened to me, I had never experienced it before, I’m still shaken. But the best thing is the opposite, take deep breaths and reduce anxiety, stay strong!» or «It hurt to wake up and not see my clothes that I left drying outside» were some of them.
What was happening in the streets of Buenos Aires was the closest thing to a tornado or hurricane with gusts exceeding 100 kilometers per hour, heavy rain, and some flooding. A situation not at all common for Emilia Mernes, as she made clear in her subsequent meme, making light of the fright she had experienced.
There is no doubt that 2023 has been a good year for her, albeit with a scare, and 2024 promises to be even better with her new tour presenting her album MP3. Emilia is experiencing one of the most exciting professional phases. After the release of her new studio album .mp3, the Argentine has become the soundtrack for thousands and thousands of people worldwide.
