This year has been truly remarkable for Mexican music, with several artists achieving international success, such as Peso Pluma, Natanael Cano, and Carin Leon, just to mention some, have been shining brightly on the global stage.
The impact of their music goes far beyond borders, captivating audiences from different cultures and backgrounds. Mexican music continues to thrive and conquer hearts worldwide, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry.
Fuerza Regida is no exception, as they just recently released “Tiki Taka Toco”, a cumbia soccer-themed song to celebrate the start of the Leagues Cup, where Lionel Messi is set to make his debut with Inter Miami FC.
Following their hit songs ‘Sabor Fresa’, the viral sensation ‘TQM’, and their collaboration with Myke Towers on ‘Pariente’, this new track adds to Fuerza Regida’s impressive discography.
The Leagues Cup is the soccer competition bringing together teams of Mexico’s Liga MX and the United States’ MLS. Fuerza Régida’s song, exclusively available on Apple Music, is described as a «celebration song» by Jesús Ortiz Paz (JOP), the vocalist and leader of Fuerza Régida.
They needed a soccer song and they said they wanted a cumbia so me and my boy Armienta made it happen” –JOP said of the track.
Like with Mexican music, JOP sees the union of the two countries for the Leagues Cup as a powerful way to foster a greater moment for both sports and culture. He describes it as an incredible and globally impactful concept, creating an environment where people from different backgrounds can come together and celebrate.
Our relationship with MLS and Leagues Cup is that we’re from the same place, the same country. And we love soccer. That’s what it is. And now we’re doing this song. Let’s run it up.”
(D-D-Daytrip took it to ten, hey)
Ay, mamá
Dulce mami, tan hermosa, especial
Tu sonrisa es la que me pone a pensar
No quisiera perderte jamás
Te paso a buscar
Vеngo más que contento
Ya me quité еl sueño
Hay que celebrar
Tiki, taka, toco
Baby, quítame lo loco
Tiki, taka, toco
Fuerza Regida
¡Otro Pedo!
Vengo más que contento
Le subí al estéreo
Te paso a buscar
Vengo más que contento
Ya me quité el sueño
Hay que celebrar
Tiki, taka, toco
Baby, quítame lo loco
Tiki, taka, toco
Solo mírame a los ojos
Tiki, taka, toco
Con barrera yo la anoto
Tiki, taka, toco
Dulce mami, tú me traes bien loco
It might sound like a tongue twister, but Fuerza Régida sparked a TikTok trend, encouraging fans to dance along with them or to use the song.

Recently, Fuerza Régida performed a sold-out show at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, breaking the record for the highest attendance for a Latin act at the venue.
Selling out the BMO in Los Angeles, especially being Mexican-American, and being the first, is the best feeling… I feel really happy about that. The Mexican genre’s on top” –JOP said to Rolling Stone.
The BMO Stadium show helped kick off Fuerza Régida’s Otra Peda Tour in the US. JOP revealed that the majority of the shows have already sold out, a testament to the genre’s immense success. The band’s popularity is clearly resonating with fans, making their tour a highly anticipated event.
