Festival Equal: Spotify’s Event to Promote Women Visibility In Music
María Becerra, Lali & Emilia headline the festival lineup that will be held on September
For the third time, the streaming platform Spotify, will celebrate women at the Festival Equal, taking place on Saturday, September 16, at the Hipódromo de Palermo in Argentina.
The festival is based on Spotify’s Equal program, aiming to demonstrate the contributions of women artists to the music industry and advocate for equal opportunities. Since then, artists from more than 30 countries have been highlighted on the platform’s playlists, gaining visibility and even being featured in advertisements on Times Square screens (among other initiatives).
This year event will feature performances by María Becerra, Lali, Emilia, Marilina Bertoldi, Karina, Taichi, and Connie Isla.
EQUAL
Despite the vast underrepresentation of women artists, engineers, and producers in the music industry, there is a vast of incredible talent worldwide that deserves to be recognized and celebrated.
In response to this, Spotify launched EQUAL in 2020, a continuous global program aimed at promoting equity for women in music. EQUAL demonstrates their dedication to elevating the voices of women musicians and creators on local, regional, and international levels.

Renowned artists have participated in the festival, such as Nathy Peluso at the second edition held in Madrid, Spain.
