The Success of ‘Forever King’

Just a month after its release Don Omar has achieved great recognition with his latest album, the aforementioned Forever King: Billboard has named it one of the best albums of 2023 in their exclusive list, «Best Latin Albums of 2023 which was handpicked by their expert music critics.

Forever King represents a captivating and diverse musical composition, showcasing Don Omar’s ability to brilliantly blend classic reggaeton beats with tropical sounds. His latest studio work remains rooted in the reggaeton: it’s an ode and recognition to his historic legacy in music, because the urban genre would not be what it is today without Don Omar and other references that consolidated the scene in the early 2000s.

Here, the Puerto Rican clearly exhibits his willingness to explore diverse rhythms, ranging from powerful collaborations like «Flow HP» with Residente and «Bandidos» with Cosculluela, or «Magdalena» with Maluma, to the emotionally tracks of «Carcelero» and «Sincero.» Throughout his successful career, he has always taken creative risks and connected deeply with his loyal fans, far beyond just following trends.

«I thank my friends at Billboard for this recognition, which motivates me to continue making music that truly reflects my essence. I have to feel what I interpret, which is why throughout my career, I have taken risks and been able to connect with my loyal followers for such a long time. It goes way beyond just following trends,» declares the reggaetonero in a press release.

Despite having already played through the different tracks of his latest release, we can never get enough of Don Omar’s music and we still want more! And you, have you listened to Forever King yet? What do you think a Don Omar and Anuel AA junte would be like?
