Doja Cat Gives a Sneak Peek of Upcoming Album ‘Scarlet’

By this point, there’s hardly any doubt about Doja Cat’s current reign as one of the most prominent artists in this decade’s musical landscape.

The American artist has not only managed to secure her place in the industry over the past few years but has also risen to become a true pop icon. Ever since her debut back in 2018 with the release of her album Amala, Doja Cat has consistently remained a topic of conversation. 

Now, two years after the release of her award-winning album Planet Her, Doja Cat is ready to show the world what she has prepared. And she’s ready to paint us all red. Just two weeks ago, Doja artist dropped «Paint The Town Red,» a track that indicated her intention to take a turn in her musical style. And we must admit that it’s wonderful. 

However, it appears that Doja isn’t abandoning the very sound that propelled her into global stardom. In her recent interview featured in Harper’s Bazaar for the United States (she’s also in the cover), she revealed fresh details about her anticipated fourth studio album.

To begin with, Doja Cat has let slip the title of her upcoming work: «Scarlet,» a color with which she is currently associated. This connection becomes evident when observing her latest music video for «Paint The Town Red.» Furthermore, she provided subtle hints in the music video for «Attention,» where she makes an appearance covered in blood (red). 

But that’s not all, the singer has also revealed new details about the direction of this new project.

     This new album is more introspective, but I’m not leaning so hard into that to where it becomes boring. So I want to give stories and bops. This project is a really fun canvas for me to play with my rap skills and talk about what’s going on in my life. But I’m not abandoning who I was and what I know about pop and singing and that aspect of music.”

New Facets of Doja Cat 

Although we all know her as a singer, it’s becoming clear that Doja is eager to venture into new territories. Beyond her commitment to music, Doja Cat, like a genuine pop sensation, is intrigued by other creative avenues, such as fashion, makeup, and acting. 

In fact, Doja has already begun her journey into the fashion world. Not too long ago, she launched her very own collection in collaboration with Victoria’s Secret. She’s also become the face of the much-anticipated return of the iconic Angels runway show. Naturally, this revival comes with a fresh, contemporary approach for the 21st century. 

Regarding the world of acting, considering her recent appearance at the MET Gala where she portrayed a cat, we’re sure she won’t take long to receive roles. 

Doja is a 360-degree artist: she’s full of talent and needs various outlets to explore her art.
