Tomorrowland, the famous electronic music festival held in Belgium every summer, has witnessed many unforgettable and thrilling moments over the years.
In the 2023 edition, the American DJ, Steve Aoki, widely recognized as one of the world’s top DJs, made an unforgettable impact, particularly on the Latin audience. Among Aoki’s special guests were Paris Hilton, Lil Jon, John Martin & Kaaze, and the talented Danna Paola, proudly representing Mexico on the grand stage.
While we do miss Danna’s performances in series like ‘Élite,’ her decision to follow her heart and pursue her true passion in music has undoubtedly proven to be the right one, as all her creations since then have become resounding successes. Her recent collaboration with Kim Petras on the remix of ‘tqum’ by Sofía Reyes and herself stands as a testament to this.
On July 29, she took the stage as a guest of Steve Aoki and debuted her latest song ‘Paranoia.’
On her social media she expressed her excitement.
Best night ever friend @steveaoki 🔥🖤…. anoche #PARANOIA sonó en @tomorrowland !!!!!! QUE F*CKIN SUEÑO!
Love you so much!!! Can’t wait for people to have this track! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 🇲🇽 IN DA HOUSE!!!»
Undoubtedly, it will be a night that Danna Paola will never forget.
Steve Aoki is famous for his electronic music, and Ángela Aguilar for Regional Mexican songs. However, during Aoki’s exciting music session in Tomorrowland, he surprised everyone by playing ‘Invítame un café,’ a song he collab with Ángela and was released in June of this year.
The original song, which has gained popularity in Latin American countries thanks to TikTok, was already iconic before it surfaced on the social platform and before Ángela sang it.
‘La gata bajo la lluvia’ is an 1982 song, originally performed by the renowned Spanish singer Rocío Dúrcal. It became a classic in the Spanish-speaking world due to the song’s emotional depth and powerful vocals that have resonated with many listeners over the years. The story of the song is about a woman who feels lonely and abandoned.
Steve and Angela took an iconic song and transformed it into a different but unique proposal that we didn’t know we needed.
We owe our gratitude to Aoki for uplifting incredibly talented and proudly Latina artists, demonstrating how music can transcend borders and bring people from diverse cultures together, united by a shared feeling of joy and connection.
