Dani Ribba is one of the great talents emerging from Argentina’s underground scene. The artist began his career in freestyle and rap battles. Competitions like El Quinto Escalón or FMS brought him international recognition, and after partially leaving this discipline, he dedicated himself full-time to music. The Argentine started releasing his first songs, which quickly became big hits.

As he tells us in this interview, in 2022 he released his debut album, La Melodía, a record featuring collaborations with Duki, Trueno and Tiago PZK. In this interview, the artist tells us about his relationship with them and the reasons behind the success of the Argentine hip-hop/R&B scene. He also talks about the influences and sounds of this album. Now Ribba is currently immersed in another musical project, with his new sound leaning more towards 90s rap, aiming to convey the emotions of that era.

The Argentine is in the process of composing his new work, seeking new sounds while staying true to his roots: the boom clap. Therefore, just a month ago, he released his latest single,  ‘La vibe,’ a track that pays homage to rap.

Nevertheless, during this conversation, he also talks about other influences and the importance of the rock scene in Argentina. For a few years now, the urban scene has been growing considerably, overshadowing rock almost entirely. However, both scenes coexist perfectly, influencing and inspiring each other. It’s clear that music has always been present in Argentina.
