Who hasn’t sung and danced to a Black Eyed Peas song? The American group has been on stage for almost three decades, proving that they are true hitmakers. Throughout their career, the group has given us great songs like ‘I Gotta Feeling’, ‘Where is the love?‘ or ‘Pump It‘. In addition, in recent years they have made us dance with songs like ‘Don’t You Worry’ or ‘Bailar contigo’. Taboo, Will.i.am and Apl.de.ap have been able to renew themselves, capture the essence of the sounds and make us give it all with their songs.

This May 20, the group was giving it all as headliner of the Mallorca Live Festival 2023 in Spain. Minutes before going on stage and leaving the audience open-mouthed, the band met with LOS40 for an interview. And some breaking news: the BEP not only told us that they have coincided with C. Tangana in the studio, but they also recorded a song together! The artists also talked about their relationship with Shakira and their desire to perform in Spain.

The most special concert of Black Eyed Peas

Black Eyed Peas have performed several times in Spain. Thus, we wanted to know which is the most special concert they have given in our country. «A Coruña is my favorite place». As for the Spanish artists they know, in addition to C. Tangana, two names have come out: Rosalía and Nathy Peluso. Both artists are in their favourite playlists.

About Shakira

«Shakira is like our sister. We have worked with her for years. We love how she works,» Will.i.am has started by saying. «She’s the boss, she’s smart and she’s amazing,» he assured. Taboo wanted to emphasize Shakira’s work as a dancer: «She’s always willing to push more and challenge her own limits». The band collaborated with the Colombian legend in ‘Girl Like Me’ and in ‘Don’t You Worry’

Will.i.am also wanted to emphasize the figure of the Colombian singer in music history:

«As far as the most youthful Latin pop is concerned, we can talk about her as a pioneer. She was like a bridge between what Celia Cruz did in Central America for that generation. Because for a long time Latin music was something that only our parents listened to. There was no one who represented the youth. At least for me».

«Do you see yourself releasing a Spanish-language track with Shakira?», we asked them.

And Taboo was clear about this: «At some point I would love to do it and with other artists. But my dream is to be able to work with Guillermo del Toro at some point. He is a great visionary».

The artists also confessed which are their favorite reggaeton songs: they liked the most iconic hits, from Gasolina to Bad Bunny’s Mia.
