We have to say that the last week of James Corden’s Late Late Show is leaving us the most emotional moments. First, with the iconic Carpool Karaoke finale, in which Adele surprised the host for a ride and they both end up crying and reminiscing about their strong friendship. Now, the nostalgia comes back to us when Corden and Billie Eillish recall her dazzling TV debut in the show performing ‘Ocean Eyes’ back in 2017. At that moment, the young superstar was only 15 years old!

“I was very nervous and very sick. I was sick for many years, I feel like. Everything I did I was sick. My voice was kinda messed up”, she remembers. The American songwriter even shared how it was for her meeting Corden: “I remember you came to meet us in the room. You were the first celebrity I’d ever been close up to”, she adds giggling.

Eillish’s first performance at the Late Late Show has been streamed more than 6.3 billion times. Crazy!

Billie’s Young Rise to Stardom

After raising to fame in 2015 with her debut single ‘Ocean Eyes’ (written by her brother Finneas O’Connell, with whom she collaborates in live performances, including the Late Late Show), Eilish released her successful EP ‘Don’t Smile at Me’ and her stellar first studio album ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ in 2019, which entered atop the Billboard 200 and UK Albums chart

In 2020, Billie became the youngest person ever to win a Grammy for Album of the Year, which is part of her seven golden gramophones collection. In fact, she has received multiple accolades, including, two AMAs, three Brit Awards, a Golden Globe and an Academy Award. As you can see, the list of Billie’s milestones is large.

However, Corden argues that the young hitmaker remains the same as when he met her: “You are exactly the same person that I met then in your core and your person’ truly and is a credit to you and to your family”, he said.

On ‘Swarm’ and Headlining Lollapalooza

Billie Eilish also talked about her acting debut in Donald Glover’s new ‘Swarm’. A series about Dre (Dominique Fishback), a young woman whose obsession with pop stars takes a dark turn.

“Swarm was kinda a dream role for me. When it was brought to me. I thought: ‘this is the thing, this is what I want to do’. Donald Glover is my all time hero«, she confessed.

“SHE IS  CHANGED!”, joked Corden as a response, after getting offended by not being Eilish’s hero.

In the funny interview (in which even the actress Natalie Portman also expressed that her kids were huge fans of Billie) there was also time to speak about the great performance of Billie Eillish at Lollapalooza Brazil, since she has been the headliner this year. The images of Eillish singing between a massive crowd are simply spectacular.

“When there are that many people how do you feel you are connecting with the entire audience?”, asked Corden. “It’s hard, you can’t really. I love playing festivals. It’s one of my favorite shows to do. It ‘s like a sea. You stand there and it’s like…endless people. It’s a feeling I don’t get in any other aspects of my life”, she explains, while rewatching her show on screen. “It might not be all your fans so I feel like I have to prove something, in a way that makes me feel better working harder, putting more effort into it”.

Billie is one of the great artists that have appeared on the show during its last years. We’re sure that that has meant a lot to her! Now the superstar has also become part of the official farewell of Corden’s show this week
