The events at Beyoncé’s recent concert have reignited a debate on social media regarding consent and respect for women’s bodies. It all started when a video went viral showing Queen B stepping down from the platform she typically performs on, after the tank allegedly malfunctioned during her Boston concert.
Up to three security team members quickly approached to support the singer as she descended from the platform, but one of them made a noticeable gesture. It was the crew member on the right, wearing a uniform clearly indicating he was part of the artist’s team. As he helped Beyonce descend from the tank, his hand moved from her back to her backside.
Was this an intentional and inappropriate action, or an unintentional gesture aimed at preventing the artist from falling? Seconds later, the same worker was seen holding Beyoncé’s hand as he led her offstage.

As usual, everyone on social media seems to have an opinion on the matter. Some users criticized the behavior as reprehensible and deserving of reprimand, while others leaned towards the idea that it was an involuntary gesture, driven by the tension of the moment, and intended solely to assist the diva.
don’t get mad at me but i think he was just trying to cover her, one thing about 🐝 is she build relationships with her crew and i don’t think he was actually grabbing her on purpose…

Looks normal. She has a crew that are making 1000% sure she will avoid injury. They are trained for that. Note he moves his hand on her seat – the best place for support. If she slips, she’s safe, and they did their jobs. It may look odd but this was done properly and safely.

Yeah he was def being inappropriate. These are the “small things” women deal with that they shouldn’t have to deal. It wouldn’t happen like this to a man, I guarantee that.

On the other hand, we must note that Beyoncé is a fully conscious and consistent artist when it comes to attitudes related to abuse and inappropriate behavior. In fact, various media outlets reported last year that the artist conducted investigations into each and every collaborator on her latest album, Renaissance (2023), searching for even the slightest accusation (no matter how minor, it’s always significant) related to sexual harassment and other objectionable behaviors in professional and personal settings.
In fact, Queen Bey recently omitted Lizzo’s name during her performance of «Break My Soul» in Boston last Tuesday, a gesture that many interpreted as a response to allegations of a toxic work environment from some of her former employees. However, Beyoncé once again included Lizzo’s name in her concert in Washington D.C. this past Saturday.
