Almost 15 days have passed since Anuel AA experienced a life-threatening health scare that set off alarm bells. The artist shared an image on his social media while lying on a hospital gurney, wearing the typical attire of medical facilities, following an emergency surgery that he described as «life or death,» as he explained in the caption.
«Only God knows why things happen (…). I can’t continue working right now. Thank God, I’m alive, and that’s all that matters,» he wrote. The Puerto Rican singer deeply concerned his fans with his post, in which he already mentioned that his projects would have to be postponed. «I know you’ve been waiting for me, and I’ve worked my *** off to rebuild my career after nearly destroying it myself,» he stated.
A week later, there was no information available about the artist. Even his inner circle chose not to comment, causing growing uncertainty on social media.
All Projects Postponed
After several days of no updates, Anuel AA’s team, Real Hasta La Muerte, has issued an official statement, providing the latest information about the artist on X – formerly known as Twitter.
First and foremost, they announced the cancellation of Anuel AA’s appearance at the Premios Rolling Stone En Español scheduled for October 26th «for health reasons» following his emergency surgery. «By the doctor’s orders attending to him, he must refrain from working for approximately a month and rest to recover,» they mentioned regarding the estimated duration of the singer’s hiatus.
In a similar vein, the Puerto Rican artist has had to postpone his appearance in Guatemala on October 28th, as well as the release of the EP «Rompecorazones.» The latter doesn’t have a new launch date as they had to «cancel the filming of the project’s videos.»
In recent weeks, and due to Anuel AA’s silence on social media, many media outlets have reported that his surgery was due to appendicitis. Something that his team neither confirmed nor denied, but they did make a request on the matter: «Stop spreading fake news about Anuel’s health or casting doubt on his current situation, creating a false narrative that makes no sense.»
